Nutritious Deserts - Nutrient Dense Bliss Balls
Seeds and Nuts are an incredible sources of essential fatty acids. Besides being rich in energy, dietary fats vitamin E , rich in fibre and other vitamins and minerals.
Figs and Dates are rich in Iron, Potassium and Calcium.
1 cup Pitted Dates
1/3cup chopped dried Figs
¼ cup Tahini paste
1/3cup Coconut oil
½ cup Almond Meal
1/4cup Pumpkin Seeds
1/4cup Sunflower seeds
2 Tbsp. Chia Seeds
2Tbsp. Sesame seeds
1 Tbsp. Ground Flax Seed
1 Tbsp. Cinnamon powder
3 Tbsp. Cocoa Powder
Place all ingredients in a food processor and process until mixture is finely chopped and begins to separate from the sides of the bowl. If it’s too wet add some more almond meal. If it’s too dry add little extra tahini or coconut oil.
Press 1 Teaspoon of mixture into a ball. Repeat with remaining mixture. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Then roll in the cocoa and cinnamon just before serving. Dust with a bit of powdered sugar.
This recipe is made with only seeds. Almonds are a seed and not a nut.
