Liver-Healing Tea

Dandelion is known to be anti-inflammatory, full of antioxidants and particularly beneficial for the liver as it helps reduce fat and oxidative stress. Cardamom works as a liver protection, as it may decrease elevated liver enzymes, triglyceride and cholesterol levels, while stimulating bile for a healthy liver function and fat metabolism. Fenugreek seeds too are known to support the liver and control blood sugar. Liquorice the medicinal parts are in the underground stem which contains the compound Glycyrrhizin. Studies have shown this can help cure hepatitis C a liver disease.

1 tbsp Dandelion dried leaves and root

1 tbsp Fennel seeds 6 Cardamom pods 2 Liquorice stems

1 tsp Fenugreek seeds 4 cups Water (boiling) 1 tsp Ginger (grated) 1 tbsp Chamomile flowers dried

1. Combine all the tea ingredients, in an airtight container and keep. To prepare the tea add 3 tsp of the herbal mix into a kettle, add grated ginger and cover with boiling water. Let infuse for 7 - 10 minutes, then strain and let cool until comfortable to drink. Add your choice of sweetener before serving.

Notes

Dosage and benefits

Have this tea twice a day between meals, or prepare it in the morning and drink it during the day. Herbal infusions take time to produce results. Use for at least 21 days.

Don't have Liquorice - Use cinnamon instead.
